You will be aware from the national media, that general practice has been placed under excessive pressure during and since the Covid-19 Pandemic. Patient safety and welfare took precedence. Standard working hours and other support measures for practice staff were put to one side to ensure the pandemic was brought under control. What has been achieved has been amazing but has taken a toll on both patients and our teams. As we move forward we want to improve how we look after our patients by supporting our staff through regular training and development. This will help keep
our loyal and experienced staff and help them to help you during the increased pressure we face in general practice.
Therefore, from 3rd January 2023 we are going to introduce a Lunch and Learn trial which has been proven to improve productivity, allow for essential training and updates and regain staff mental health balance.
This will mean our general phone lines will not be manned from 12.30-1.30pm each day. Whilst you will not have physical access to the practice during these times, our external doors will be open and you will still be able to deliver prescriptions and samples to a designated place. Emergency calls from services such as 111, the ambulance service, hospice and care homes will still be taken using our emergency number. We would like to thank all of our patients for the support that they have shown our team, I am sure you will all continue to show your commitment to us by supporting this needed change.
